An attorney for over two decades and author of 12 books, Reed has made his mark in the legal arena by being a trailblazer and a relentless advocate for entertainers, athletes, individuals and his country.  Reed has represented and negotiated contracts for athletes in every U.S. sport except hockey.  He wrote the first contract negotiation book for athletes with tax aspects; only referenced guide cited by the American Bar Association at its first sports and entertainment forum in Los Angeles.  He was one of the youngest agents in the U.S. and a law student representing ten athletes.  He negotiated a promotional contract for one of the largest boxing events; the Hearns vs. Leonard bout involving $30 million dollars.  He also negotiated the unification of the boxing championship belt involving Mike Tyson and Tony Tucker.  Reed is the only attorney to represent 6 world boxing champions. 

Reed serves as a consultant and an expert witness for various attorneys, promoters and businesses.  He is the founder of the Hip Hop/Entertainment Clinic and co-founder of BESLA, an international sports/entertainment organization.

Reed received national recognition in the New York Times and Time Magazine for preserving the legacy of Alex Haley and Malcolm X by acquiring the original manuscript of “The Autobiography of Malcolm X” along with three unpublished chapters from the estate of author Alex Haley.  He served as the chair of the Arts, Entertainment and Sport Section of the State Bar and is a recipient of the John Hensel Award for significant contributions to the arts.
